Operation at POS- and Info Terminal Areas counts on Touch Technology which then replaces the input via keyboard, comfortably and preferably faultless, with a touch of the screen. Among the current application modes at POS, the Resistive Foil Touch is a popular technology.
Put simply: A mulitple layered foil containing micro wiring in a raster is brought onto the screen's surface. At the touch of it, the electrical resistance of both, a lateral and a vertical wire changes. With the aid of these X/Y coordinates, the touch screen determines the edxact position of the triggering touch of one's finger.
Currently, the differentiation is determined by 4-/5-/6-/7-/ 8-wire Technology.
